Nordic Webinar Series on Radiation Protection Launched – Save the Date!

NSFS and NKS (Nordic Nuclear Safety Research) are proud to introduce a new series of joint Nordic webinars focusing on current and future challenges and solutions in radiation protection and nuclear safety, including emergency preparedness.

The inaugural webinar will take place on October 6, 2026, at 13:00 CEST (duration 1½-2 h), under the theme Emergency Response and Information. This session will feature state-of-the-art Nordic developments presented by two leading experts:

• Jens Havskov Sørensen (DMI, Denmark) – Sharing insights into new emergency preparedness research and ideas beyond that.
• Gísli Jónsson (IRSA, Iceland) – Exploring tomorrow’s training and education practices for emergency first responders.

The event will be hosted by Henrik Öberg (IRSA), current Vice President of NSFS. Introduction given by Pia Keski-Jaskari (STUK), current Chair of NKS (tbc).  Following the presentations, we will open for a Q&A session with the audience.
